富山県高岡市の万葉歴史館にある常設展示を万葉体感エリア（プロジェクションマッピングシアター）としてリニューアルしました。この施設は、日本最古の歌集『万葉集』に特化した研究施設ですが、『万葉集』や「越中万葉の世界」を楽しみながら学んでいただける展示を行っています。
今回新設された万葉体感エリアでは、「大伴家持と越中万葉の世界」と題して高岡の四季折々の自然の美しさを大伴家持の歌と共に、3方向の大型スクリーンに大迫力のプロジェクションマッピングを楽しむことが出来ます。包み込まれるような没入感のある空間が見る人を越中万葉の世界に誘います。富山県高岡市出身の挿絵作家佐竹美保さんによる書き下ろしの絵画を用いた映像表現も見所の一つです。
The World of Etchu Manyo with Otomo no Yakamochi @ Toyama Prefecture, Manyo Experience Area
Manyo Historical Museum, located in Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture, is a research facility specializing in Manyoshu, the Japan’s oldest anthology of poems. The permanent exhibition area there has been renewed to Manyo experience area (a projection mapping theater) where you can enjoy and learn about “Manyoshu” and “The World of Etchu Manyo”.
The new Manyo experience area, “The World of Etchu Manyo with Otomo no Yakamochi “, allows you to enjoy the breathtaking natural beauty of Takaoka’s four seasons along with Yakamochi’s impressive poems through powerful projection mapping projected on large screens in three directions. The immersive space that surrounds you, invites you to the world of Etchu Manyo. The visual direction using paintings by Miho Satake, an illustrator from Takaoka City, Toyama Prefecture is one of the highlights of the work.
